Pam Cooper & Margaret Wilson

Cooper WilsonPam Cooper and Margaret Wilson are without doubt a couple who enjoy the Garden with gusto. They've been loyal members, very generous donors and volunteers of Desert Botanical Garden since 2002.

A move to Arizona peaked Pam's plant curiosity. She came to the Garden to investigate the Desert Landscaping School. She went home with an enthusiasm for the flora, fauna and people she found here. Education led to work as a Horticulture volunteer and then to a staff position in Development Operations. Most recently, Pam helped launch the Community Garden pilot program. Margaret comes along to enjoy events and to lend a volunteer hand.

Pam and Margaret were both members of the military who mobilized and deployed for three tours in Iraq. "I was at the Garden spiritually during my deployment," says Pam. While away, they gifted their Garden membership to friends and family. Now that extended family of 13-plus joins them for Garden events like Luminaria, butterflies, spring flowers and Music in the Garden.

They take pride in the way the Garden is growing and developing. Together their charitable estate plan will help to "pass all the wonderful times we have had here to the next generation of pollinators."
